Flusswaters
Flusswaters is a mysterious island, crisscrossed by magical rivers, freshwater springs, and dense forests. Home to the Flusswater merfolk, it is a place where they possess the rare ability to walk on land and live in deep connection with nature and the fae. Beneath the island lies a shimmering network of tunnels, illuminated by magical light, which allows the merfolk to travel undetected between springs and leads to the ocean, where only the bravest undergo the saltwater metamorphosis.
High above floats Aetheris, the ancient city that ascended from the sea into the sky. It holds forgotten magic and ancient secrets but remains inaccessible to most. At the heart of the island lies the Fairywell, the sacred life-giving spring, surrounded by dying flora after the Tears Pearl cracked.
In the west, jagged mountains rise, cloaked in mist, while in the north stretch the dark moors, where the reclusive Moor Witch Lynna resides. The moors are eerie but one of the few places unaffected by the spreading decay. Flusswaters is a land of beauty and danger, where the merfolk battle against a growing darkness to survive.
The merfolk of those freshwater rivers and springs are called Rivanians.
Nymphaea
Nymphaea is the brave Guardian of the Faerie Spring, her look inspired by golden-orange water lilies. With fiery ginger hair and striking green eyes, she’s fiercely loyal to her two sisters, Lotis and Serilylis. When Lotis falls ill from a mysterious curse, Nymphaea embarks on a dangerous quest to find a cure. Despite her fear of the ocean’s depths, she faces the unknown with determination, driven by love for her family and her duty to protect the world of Flusswaters.
Serilylis
Serililys is the eldest of the three Flusswater sisters, with dark skin and a serene beauty inspired by pink water lilies. Her hair, adorned with soft pink hues, flows like the petals of a lily, reflecting her calm and nurturing nature. Serililys possesses a deep connection to the magic of the Faerie Spring and serves as its protector while her sister Nymphaea embarks on her journey.
Serililys remains at the Faerie Spring to care for their ailing sister Lotis, dedicating herself to preserving the life-giving magic of the spring. She is wise and patient, her presence offering a sense of stability and hope, though she hides her own fears about the growing darkness affecting their world. Her role as the guardian of home is as vital as her sisters’ quest, ensuring the magic of the spring remains strong and that Lotis is cared for during these trying times.
Lotis
Lotis is the youngest of the three Flusswater sisters, with pale skin and a delicate beauty inspired by white water lilies. Always fragile and prone to illness, she has been cared for by her sisters her entire life. Despite her physical weakness, Lotis possesses a gentle spirit and a deep connection to the Faerie Spring, her presence bringing a sense of calm. As her health declines due to the curse spreading across the land, she remains a symbol of innocence and purity, motivating Nymphaea and Serililys in their efforts to save her and their world.
